The first double page we were shown was a simple piece we had to recreate, this was too learn and improve skills. The left hand page had a line of text which created a city skyline leading to a rat. which was on the right hand page, next to a body of text. Within this body of text were small rats.
The main head ' rat city ' was big bold and spaced out over the left page. for this i would mainly use text boxers for each individual letter, but stephen said to use one text box for this. this meant i could control the title easier and quicker, I could do this by changing the tracking, leading, kerning and base line all within the character panel on indesign.
The image above is this piece we were working towards. I wanted to recreate the thing as accurate a possible using the same images, font size, colour, layout ETC. Unlike the first one with using one text box, i used more than 1.
I enjoyed this session a lot more than expected, I learnt a lot more about the software and improved and gained a lot more skills.
