In todays lecture we were G# MINOR. Stephen told us that they key is often a discord or discontented and often used for creating music for tragedies. He then mentioned a song by the "dire straits" with the song being called "brother in arms". This song is based on the tragedy of war, the discomfort, the pain and the loss caused by war. Also a very popular song back in 2009/10 that was also written in G# minor was lady gaga's Poker face.
We then got given a short film to watch, created by Alexander Chen, which shows the first bach cello suites. The interesting thing about this video is that is does make sense, but makes more sense when played along side another track.
We were then shown a animation that was created by the lecturer Sara Nesteruk. It had a great back story and a great narrative and really captured the main characters personality.
I didn't really understand why we were shown all this as i don't think it had much to do with graphics other than the fact of the animations shown. But i did enjoy the lecture.
