KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY

In todays after effects session we were creating a kinetic type animation using the z-space. I have known about the X and Y axis and have used them many times, however, i have never known about the z-space axis, I was excited about this session. When using the X and Y I noticed that you only use 1 view, but with using the z-space you use 2 views.

I started off in illustrator writing out my song lyrics, having them all on different labelled layers. I then opened them up in after effects, making sure i clicked retain all layer sizes. I then added them onto a competition and ticked all the 3d layer boxes next to each layer to allow the z space.

I then move each layer into the right order within the z-space, using the x,y,z axis buttons. I then click layer, new, camera and left the settings the same then clicked okay. Then I set up the start point for the camera, then moved it to the finished point on the time line and thats how i created this video.
