TYPE 2

This workshop is a follow on from type 1, in this weeks drawing workshop we was continuing with our type sketches we had drawn up prior to this. We had to choose our best three, which we then had to make a full alphabet in rough for all three samples. This was a ball ache JOHN. Thinking about the entire alphabet for 3/4 hours if very tired and straining on the brain.
Anyway here are the 3 rough copies.
the two typefaces on the left hand side are not finished as i got so far through and realised the style i had chosen would allocated all 26 letters on the alphabet. However, the typeface on the right is a full type face, this type face is a lot different to the others as i want for a more unique approach, i still took inspiration from the samples but refined the sample idea. for the bottom type face I went with a 4 squares across and 5 squares down, with the hope of trying to make all letters be bold. The top type face I wanted to use lowercase letters in stead which made it harder as i had to think about the tails, for example on the A, the size i was using was 4X4 there was no consistency within this. The left type face was on a 3 across and 4 down.

The next session we would be developing one further
